Bedford Street
& Lobster Lane.

One of the Norwich Lanes. Lobster Lane, former site of the Old Lobster Inn, continues the line of Pottergate from the junction with Maddermarket to the junction with Exchange Street, where it becomes Bedford Street. The whole road is semi-pedestrianised, with the paving-stones designed to resemble the cobbles of old. Lots of undercrofted old buildings which have since been converted into pubs, and then re-converted into luxury restaurants, in a microcosm of the city's development over the years. Also the former site of the Ironmongers' Inn, the only pub with that name in Britain (although the building was a baker's, not an ironmongers').
